Colours make it easier to distinguish the bowls. Each colour has a different bias. Play 2 weak bowls and 2 strong bowls against 2 medium and 2 very strong. Can be played with unbiased or biased jack. |

'Short Mat' style Carpet Bowls - (carpet also used by Western Skittles) (based around ESMBA rules) Format - Dimensions - Bowl size -
Place your jack by hand. Deliver your bowls around the centre block to rest in the scoring area. Bowls entering the ditch donlt count unless they touched the jack first. Touchers are chalked. Close ends can be measured. Perhaps play with weight but no striking. |

All bowls must pass the central line without hitting the spinner. Any bowls leaving the carpet don't count. Touchers don't apply. |

Parlour Carpet Bowls ( 3 sets) Format - Dimensions - Bowl size -
Plastic markers provide a temporary boundary on any spare area of carpet. If the carpet is not entirely level it makes for a more varied game. Deliver the unbiased jack then try to be closest with your bowls. Start the next end from where you finished the last. An alternative scoring method can also be played where the 3 nearest bowls to the jack are scored (whoever they belong to). Nearest counts for 4, second bowl for 2 and third bowl for 1. |

Table Bowls with Ditch - (also used by table croquet) Format - Dimensions - Bowl size -
The ditch awaits at the end of this custom bowls table. Send the jack down the ramp to be repositioned along a central line (flat green style) or play anywhere on the surface. Jack remains live in ditch and can also be respotted. Special toucher rule applies. |

'Short Mat / Carpet Style' Table Bowls - (also used by Petanque de Table, Billiard Target Board, Table Curling, Bumper Shuffleboard) Format - Dimensions - Bowl size -
A short mat / carpet hybrid transferred to the table. Place the jack first, then send bowls down the ramp, around the central block, and into the scoring area. No touchers. Jack in ditch is penalised. |

Table Bocce
Format – 2 player singles, Pairs Custom-
The board is 6 feet in length, with a leatherette surface marked out as a simple bocce court. 4 metal boules per player / pair are rolled down a chute in an effort to be nearest the pallino (jack) in the other half of the court. Unlike the full size, outdoor game, no boules can be thrown (no volo shot) but punto shots (for points) and raffa shots can be played with weight to move nominated boules or pallino. |
