Transport Requirements

To keep costs down for both Manor and the hiring group the cost of transport is not included in Manor's charges.

If the group is providing transport and driver(s) then the following are the requirements:

 

The type of vehicle required is indicated with each game format.

Large Estate Car or Small Van

- inside length MIN 66 inches. Width 45 inches.

 

van

Large Transit Type Van

- inside length MIN 96 inches. Width 66 inches. Preferably ply lined, possibly carpeted, definitely clean.

 

Driver - This may be one or more able-bodied volunteer member(s) of the group for the particular event. To compensate the driver perhaps the group organiser could collect any money required for the driver's fuel.  If the driver is also a participant the group may want to pay between them for the driver's involvement in the event.

 

Requirements for each event:-

Pre-event. Pick up host from Manor base and load car / van with games equipment. Drive to venue. Unload and help set up games equipment.

Post event. Load car / van. Drive back to Manor base. Unload car / van.

NB - any help with lifting and moving of equipment will be minimal.  Any 'heavy' lifting will be carried out by the host. But even so, for  Health and Safety purposes, please familiarise yourself with correct lifting procedures.

 

The driving could be shared – one person pick up games and host, setup equipment. Second person could return equipment and host back to base.

The nearer to zone 1 the better for the driver.

 

Guide to Venue Arrival Times (for unloading / setting up purposes)

Pub and Parlour - 45 mins prior to event start.

Village Green, Football, Mixed Sport - 30 mins prior to event start

Horse Racing / Punting for Points, Classic Board, Quiz and Word, Strategy - 15 mins prior to event start.

Your Payments

Total event charge (not including transport) - £50 or less.

A cleared deposit of £25 or full payment (of which £25 is a deposit) to be paid at least 7 days prior to the event. The balance (if any) to be paid upon collection of equipment and host from base (client transport) or upon arrival of equipment and host at venue (host transport).

 

Total event charge (not including transport) – over £50.

A cleared deposit of 50% of total event charge or full payment (of which 50% is a deposit) to be paid at least 7 days prior to the event. The balance (if any) to be paid upon collection of equipment and host from base (client transport) or upon arrival of equipment and host at venue (host transport).

 

Payments

If paying by cheque please allow 5 working days for cheque to clear.

The Group Organiser

Each group booking requires a group organiser.  This person will be responsible for organising the event from your end, they will be the person whom Manor maintains contact with (telephone and email), and they will pay the deposit and full booking fee.

 

A checklist for the group organiser

  • First please read both FAQ’s and Terms and Conditions
  • How many people will participate?
  • What time and date?
  • What length of event?
  • Indoor or outdoors?
  • Type and choice of venue – check the Venues / Groups page
  • Competitive event or non-competitive event?
  • Type of games  – pub and parlour, mixed sports, table football, classic board games, strategy etc?
  • Event format? singles, pairs, teams of 4, groups of 5 etc.
  • If you are providing transport - do you have a suitable vehicle and available driver to transport the games and host (see below)
